Alimagery’s photoshoots are super fun but you’d be wrong to say that’s all we’re about. Yeah, you’re going to have a blast, but we’ll be working hard to provide the highest standard in every possible aspect. So, whether it’s your first shoot or you’re basically a seasoned model, you’re going to arrive at your shoot feeling confident and prepared. You’re going to leave your shoot feeling hyped AF. And then, within 48 hours of your shoot, you’re going to be delighted viewing a private, pre-culled, gallery containing your high definition unedited photos - but we don’t just stop there. All of our packages contain free edits! Simply add your favourite pics to the shortlist and we’ll get to work giving your photo that extra dimension.
Editing Style
Our editing style is based on making you look like the best version of yourself and radiates the energy and mood that you give off. Whether you’re a social butterfly, a joker, a thinker or any other type of person, you can be sure that the final photographs will mirror you, your story and your finest qualities.
In terms of ‘the look’, our style is innovative. It doesn’t fit into the ordinary categories of ‘dark and moody’ or ‘natural’ or even ‘bright and airy’. So what is it? Well, we haven’t come up with a word for it. We take timeless cues from the film photography era and combine them with ultra-modern capabilities to create something special. Skin tones are warm, bright and radiant while balanced harmoniously with vivid backgrounds, finally rounded off as an optical collage using out of focus foreground elements and flairs.
However, we don’t compromise on realism or unique character. We don’t manipulate the photos to make you look like somebody else, this is just you, at your best. You don’t need to worry if you wake up with a pimple in the morning, just let us know that it’s not normally there and we’ll get rid of it.
What’s your process?
It’s different for every photo, really, but we always start with the fundamentals. Attention to detail is key and angles are a crucial ingredient for perfection. The first order of business, straightening perspectives and composition. Then we perform global tonal adjustments before doing local adjustments, exposing for perfect skin tones and white balance to leave you glowing. Next, we apply our colour grading magic. Every photo is unique. Whether it’s your story, the setting or the weather, we spend a while adjusting this so that the background is popping but not threatening your dominance. If possible and necessary, we’ll clear up any distracting objects from the background so the focus is all on you and we may add in elements such as flares to enhance the photo if we feel that it offers an improvement. Only upon request, we use frequency separation techniques to clear the skin of any blemishes.
Exciting News
Presets: We’ve been using our time wisely in lockdown and we’re working to share our original editing style with the world. Of course, we want to do it properly and so we’re not quite ready to export some preset files and call it a day. We’re in the process of creating resources around our collection of ISO adaptive presets and modifiers which will be packaged into one and released under the apt name “Imitation by Alimagery”.
New routes: we’re in the testing stage of developing a bunch of new routes with a working codename “Blast from the Past” and “Skyline City”. We test all of our pre-built routes to ensure they flow beautifully and offer everything we hope from them.
New minis: our website is live with Winter Wonderland minis, which we’ll be offering in the winter season! In the nearer future, we’re also going to add Picnic Minis to our portfolio (within Park Minis) and Coffee Shop Portraits.
